POC and Me: Understanding Being a POC in the Community
March 22 @ 1:00 pm - 2:15 pm CDT
This conversation centers the lived experiences of POCs within kink, leather, and alternative spaces. We’ll unpack what it means to exist, thrive, and sometimes simply survive in communities. From visibility and representation to coded behaviors, microaggressions, and the emotional labor POCs are often expected to carry, nothing is off the table. This is not a lecture and it’s not a call-out. It’s a space for people to listen without defensiveness, to speak without fear of dismissal, and to examine how culture, race, and kink intersect in ways that are both beautiful and complicated. We’ll talk about solidarity, accountability, allyship that goes beyond words, and how we can move from awareness into action. This is open to anyone willing to show up honestly, sit with discomfort, and grow. Respect is required. Curiosity is encouraged. Growth is the goal. Because community only works when all of us are seen, protected, and valued.
