Sir Seq (they/she) joined the kink/BDSM/Leather communities back in the mid to late 90s and has served in many different capacities over the years. In the last 7 years, Sir Seq has turned their focus towards helping build consent culture and advocating for the rights of adults who engage in alternative sexual and relationship expressions. In the last decade, Sir Seq has helped by developing curriculum, facilitating, and educating at Navigating Consent, Consent-Alive, Survivors-Alive and the Consent Academy, as well as volunteering time at local shelters and food drives. Sir Seq is a block club co-president in Detroit and also serves as an observer. Sir Seq is Mx Michigan Leather Pride 2023 and proudly wears their community cover. You may have seen Seq serving on or leading Consent Teams or Community Support Teams in various alt-sex communities or holding space for those who have experienced harm, discrimination, or exclusion. In 2021, Sir Seq was invited to join the NCSF as an advocate and community liaison, and then joined NCSF’s D.E.I. Committee and began tabling for NCSF at events around the U.S. In early 2022, Sir Seq joined the board of NCSF, joined the Consent Counts Committee and the Education Outreach Committee, and was later invited to be the Co-Chair of the D.E.I. Committee. In 2022, Sir Seq became the Chair of the D.E.I. Committee and served again on the NCSF board. Sir Seq identifies as a nonbinary, neurodivergent, survivor who lives with chronic illness.

Join us for Got Consent, a good starting point for Consent To Kink. We will touch on the following ideas: State of Consent, Consent Culture, Consent Best Practices, Things to Consider, Withdrawing Consent, Ability to Consent, Trauma, and Explicit Prior Permission for Consent to Kink. We will also provide free resources made available by the National Coalition For Sexual Freedom.
Evaluating risk before you play (1)
In this class we will look at various consent models, then delve into ways to examine the risks of play, so we can better plan to mitigate risks and evaluate whether a scene should proceed. If time allows, we will explore one or more scenarios as a group.
