Ember Solaris

Ember Solaris (they/she) is a queer/genderqueer, neurodivergent, disabled social scientist turned kink educator. A sadistic D-type leaning switch, they love high-risk play and all things dark, bloody, primal, and monstrous. They teach across the US and internationally, and co-organize the Let it Reign and Reign of Blood educational platforms, which exist to make quality kink education more accessible regardless of where people live. Ember loves getting into the nitty gritty of how it works, what makes it hot, and where it gets complicated. They bring research, personal experience, and enthusiasm for exploring the desires, risks, and practical details people don’t always get to discuss, even in kink spaces.

Liquid Will: An Introduction to Waterboarding (2)
Waterboarding can be clinical or frightening, but also playful, intimate, and enjoyable. In this class we’ll consider how those different intentions affect a scene and the responsibilities of everyone involved. This is an introduction to waterboarding for people with an existing foundation in kink, consent, and negotiation. We focus on one primary method and a few small variations. We’ll cover the basic anatomy and body responses that help explain its risks, waterboarding-specific negotiation, and how individual health, experience, and circumstances affect a risk profile. We’ll also discuss monitoring, recognizing when something is going wrong, troubleshooting, and aftercare, including emotional and relational effects people may not expect. This class includes a live demonstration.

Monster Fucking Skills (2)
This class gets into the toys, skills, and special effects that can bring monstrous play to life. We’ll explore fantasy toys, wearables, and attachments, then spend some time with ovipositors and eggs, fake cum and slime, and larger or unusually shaped toys. Along the way, we’ll look at what makes something feel monstrous as opposed to just playing with fantasy toys, and what different toys and effects can actually offer. Sometimes it’s the appearance, sometimes it’s the sensation, and sometimes it’s what the creature does with it. We’ll take an idea from the room and work through the possibilities together, including what someone might want to experience and how we could approach that with the bodies and equipment involved.

Welcome to Needles (2)
Come get acquainted with the pointy things! This introduction welcomes people interested in topping, bottoming, self-stabbing, or simply finding out what the appeal is. We’ll work through the basics of a needle scene, from supplies and setup to needle handling, removal, disposal, and care afterward. Along the way, there’s skin and placement to consider, hygiene and blood exposure to understand, and a person attached to the skin who might be excited, nervous, or having an entirely unexpected reaction. Negotiation and responding when something feels off are part of the conversation too. Bring your questions, including the ones you think everyone else already knows the answers to. No previous needle play experience needed, and you don’t have to have decided whether needles are your thing. This class will include a live demonstration.
